ANNUAL CHAMBER BANQUET HELD AT
SPRINGSTEEL RESORT
& NEW BOARD MEMBERS ELECTED
Warroad Area
Chamber of Commerce members gathered on February 27 at
Springsteel Resort for their annual banquet.
A number of community updates were given including
information from the City of Warroad, the school district, Marvin
Windows and Doors, and the new Senior Living Center. Results
of the board election were presented. The new Board of
Directors for 2008 is:

Joelynn Landin, owner of Ellie's Playhouse, was presented with the First Dollar of Profit by
Kathie Quinn, Marketing
Director of Warroad Area Chamber & Visitor's Bureau. Joelynn
opened her new pet boarding business last December and had quite a
few canine visitors visit over the holidays. Ellie's Playhouse
offers pet boarding and grooming. They also provide doggy
daycare service to occupy your pet with fun activities while you're
at work or out of town. Ellie's Playhouse is conveniently
located 2 miles northwest of Warroad. To book your "room" or
schedule your grooming appointment call 386-1155.
NEW BUSINESS WELCOMED BY CHAMBER
Warroad Area Chamber of Commerce representative Michelle
Thompson of MLT Accounting presented Marilyn Hurst of Black Bear
Cafe with her First Dollar of Profit Certificate. Marilyn has
25 years experience in the restaurant business and is bringing all
the old recipes from the Kozy Kitchen to her new business venture,
Black Bear Cafe. Black Bear Cafe offers home-style cooking,
signature pastas, burgers and sandwiches. Homemade pastries, pies
and rolls are also available. Featured items are shrimp risotto,
chicken marsala, alfredos and Italian spaghetti. Bonnie's broasted
chicken is still on the menu. The business hours are
7am-8pm Mon-Sat. and 7am-3pm Sun. Black Bear Cafe is located
in the old Silver Dollar building right on Lake Street. Stop by and
say "hi" to Marilyn and her team.
