Chili Cook-Off
Another successful Chili cook-off was held on July 3, 2010 at The Point Park in Warroad. This year we had 6 competitive teams enter and it was a close race for all prizes. This year’s winner of a $300 prize went to a first time entrant, “Your Northern Neighbors Eh”, with Val Happychuk as Head Cook. The Cook’s Choice winner this year was “Top Flight Chili” with head cook of Scott Johnson. Judy Olson’s team “The Chili Chicks and One Hot Pepper” took the prize for Showmanship. The People’s Choice competition was so fierce there was a tie between the team from KQ-92 and Your Northern Neighbors Eh, with a tie-breaker decision made by pulling in a spectator from the crowd, Kelly Fast accepted the difficult challenge and chose the team from Canada, Your Northern Neighbors Eh. Beautiful sunny weather allowed over 100 people to sample all of the wonderful chili’s. So, all you chili chefs in the area, start preparing for this fun competition for next year! A special thanks to Keith Cumming for organizing this event.
