1  "Great Minnesota Picnic"
Minnesota State Parks welcome visitors to a FREE open house.  To celebrate Minnesota's Sesquicentennial the parks are highlighting an activity that historically has been a park favorite over the years - the family picnic.  Hayes Lake State Park will hold their open house from 1-3 p.m.  Interpretive programs and refreshments will be provided.

4  Warroad Independence Day Celebration 
Warroad is truly a "Treasure of the North" this 4th of July.  Bring the family to enjoy a day at the lake!  Kids' games, food vendors, inflatable games, Warroad's famous "South of the Border Chili Cook-off", and fireworks.  There will be 2 parades again this year! A street parade and the lighted boat parade.  Organized by the Warroad Area Chamber of Commerce.  Call 218-386-3543 for more info.

26  FishFest 2008 -- Walleye Fry Competition
Riverside Bait & Tackle
This 3rd Annual Walleye Fry Competition is a fundraiser for our local Boy Scouts.  Up to 12 teams fry over 400 pounds of walleye on the banks of the Warroad River.  Teams compete for cash, prizes, and trophies.  The public is invited to sample all the flavors!  Teams report by 8:00 a.m., public sampling begins and 12:30 p.m.  For more info or to register your team visit...
